Purpose

Content Pitches is a dedicated workspace for agency users to manage shareable reports generated for prospective clients. These reports demonstrate to a prospect exactly how Athena would rewrite their website’s content to perform better in AI search engines. This page serves as the central directory for an organization’s pitches. From here, users can create new pitches, monitor the generation progress of pending reports, grab public sharing links to send to their prospects, and clean up older reports that are no longer needed. By providing a single list, marketing and sales teams can easily track all in-flight pitch material and quickly pull up the public links during active prospect outreach.

What’s on the page

  • Title & Description: Displays the title “Content” and a brief description explaining what content pitches are used for.
  • Create new: A primary button in the top right that initiates the flow for building a new content pitch.

Content Pitch List

The main area of the page is a stacked list of all content pitches generated by your organization. Each row in the list represents a single pitch and displays:
  • Prospect: Shows the website’s favicon alongside the prospect’s name (or their URL if no name was provided), with the raw URL listed directly underneath.
  • Created Time: Displays how long ago the pitch was created (e.g., “3 days ago”). Note: this is hidden on smaller mobile screens to save space.
  • Status Badge: Indicates the current state of the report:
    • Generating (gray badge): The report is currently being analyzed and written by the AI.
    • Ready (green badge): The report is complete and ready to share.
    • Failed (red badge): The report encountered an error during generation.
  • Actions: A set of icon buttons on the far right of the row. The specific buttons visible depend on the status of the pitch and the user’s permissions (detailed below).

What you can do here

  • Create a new pitch: Clicking the Create new button in the top right (or Create your first content pitch in the empty state) will take you to the creation wizard to input a prospect’s URL.
  • Open the internal pitch report: Clicking anywhere on the left side of a row (on the prospect’s name or favicon) opens the detailed view of that pitch, allowing you to see the suggestions and generation progress.
  • Copy public link: For pitches marked as “Ready”, clicking the copy icon (two overlapping squares) copies the shareable public URL to your clipboard. A “Link copied” success toast will appear.
  • Open public report: For pitches marked as “Ready”, clicking the external link icon (a box with an arrow) opens the public-facing version of the report in a new browser tab.
  • Delete content pitch: Clicking the trash can icon allows you to remove a pitch.
    • Confirmation: This opens a destructive confirmation dialog titled “Take down this content pitch?” with the warning: "{name}" is removed from this list and its public share link stops working.
    • Execution: Clicking Take down permanently hides the report from the list and immediately disables the public share link. This button is only visible if you are the creator of the pitch or an organization administrator.
  • Retry loading: If the page fails to fetch your list of pitches, clicking Retry will attempt to load the list again.

Data shown

The list displays the content pitches created across your entire organization. This includes pitches created by your teammates, not just the ones you created yourself. The list automatically filters out any pitches that have been deleted.

Common workflows

Sharing a completed pitch
  1. Locate a pitch in the list with the green “Ready” badge.
  2. Click the copy icon on the right side of the row.
  3. Paste the copied link into an email or direct message to the prospect.
  4. (Optional) Click the external link icon next to the copy button to preview exactly what the prospect will see before you send it.
Cleaning up old pitches
  1. Identify a pitch you no longer need (e.g., an outdated prospect or a failed generation).
  2. Click the trash can icon on the far right of the row.
  3. In the confirmation dialog, click Take down.
  4. The pitch is removed from the list, and if a prospect tries to visit the old link, it will no longer work.

Empty, loading, and error states

  • Empty State: If your organization hasn’t created any pitches yet, a dashed-border box appears with a document icon, the text “No content pitches yet”, a brief explanation of how the feature works, and a button to Create your first content pitch.
  • Loading State: While the list is being retrieved from the server, a centered animated loading spinner is displayed.
  • Error State: If the network connection drops or the server fails to load the pitches, a bordered card appears reading “Couldn’t load content pitches” alongside a message to “Check your connection and try again.” A Retry button allows you to re-attempt the fetch.
  • Linked from: Users arrive here by clicking “Content” under the Pitch Workspace section of the main sidebar or navigation rail.
  • Links to:
    • The Create new button leads to the creation wizard (/pitch-workspace/content/create).
    • Clicking a row leads to the internal pitch detail page (/pitch-workspace/content/{id}).
    • The external link button opens the public, shareable report (/report/content/{id}).

Common support questions

Why don’t I see the copy link or open link buttons for my pitch? Those actions are only available once a pitch has successfully finished generating. If the badge says “Generating” or “Failed”, the public link doesn’t exist yet. Why don’t I see the trash can icon to delete a pitch? To prevent accidentally breaking a teammate’s active sales outreach, only the person who originally created the pitch or an organization administrator can delete it. If you are a standard viewer and didn’t create the pitch, the delete button will be hidden. If I delete a pitch, will the prospect still be able to view it? No. Deleting a pitch immediately disables the public share link. If the prospect attempts to visit the link afterward, it will no longer load. Do I need to refresh the page to see if my pitch is done generating? No. The list automatically checks for updates every 5 seconds as long as at least one pitch is still “Generating.” The badge will automatically turn to “Ready” when it finishes.
