Purpose

The Pitch Setup page provides a read-only summary of the configuration for a user’s currently active pitch. It acts as a comprehensive reference sheet, allowing agency users and marketers to verify the foundational details of their pitch without the risk of accidentally editing or deleting active configurations. Customers typically visit this page after setting up a new pitch to double-check their work, or when troubleshooting their pitch reports. For instance, if a customer notices a specific competitor isn’t showing up in their AI overview report, this is where they check to ensure the competitor and their detection keywords (identifiers) were properly configured.

What’s on the page

The page is divided into four distinct collapsible sections, all of which are expanded by default when the page loads. Basic Information This section displays the high-level details of the pitch and the brand it represents. It includes:
  • Company Name: The name of the primary brand being pitched.
  • Company URL: The website address of the brand, rendered as a clickable link with an external-link icon.
  • Description: A short text description of the company.
  • Created: The date the pitch was originally created.
  • Status: The current state of the pitch (e.g., Draft, Processing, Complete).
Identifiers This section lists the specific keywords used by the system to detect the primary company and its competitors in AI responses.
  • The primary company is listed first, with its identifiers shown as indigo-colored badges.
  • Tracked competitors follow, with their identifiers shown as neutral-colored badges.
Competitors This section provides a straightforward list of every competitor being tracked against the primary brand in this pitch. Each entry displays the competitor’s name and their website URL. The URL is clickable and opens the competitor’s site in a new tab. Prompts This section lists the exact AI prompts used to evaluate the brand and generate the pitch report. Next to each prompt is a colored badge indicating its assigned type:
  • Discovery: Shown as a purple badge (typically broader, unbranded queries).
  • High Intent: Shown as an indigo badge (typically comparison or purchase-ready queries).
  • Neutral badges are used for any other assigned types.

What you can do here

As a read-only view, interactivity on this page is limited to navigation and layout adjustments:
  • Collapse/Expand sections: Click the title of any section (Basic Information, Identifiers, Competitors, or Prompts) or its corresponding chevron icon to collapse or expand that section’s content. This helps customers clean up their view if they only want to look at one specific configuration area.
  • Visit company and competitor websites: Click any URL listed under the Basic Information or Competitors sections. This will safely open the link in a new browser tab.

Data shown

The data on this page reflects the settings for the currently active pitch selected in the workspace. To ensure the user is always looking at the most up-to-date configuration, the data automatically refreshes in the background every 30 seconds.

Common workflows

Reviewing pitch configuration
  1. Navigate to the Pitch Workspace from the main sidebar.
  2. Select the desired pitch from the workspace dropdown switcher.
  3. Click on the “Setup” tab.
  4. Scroll through the page to review the Basic Information, ensuring the URL and description are correct.
  5. Expand the Identifiers, Competitors, and Prompts sections to verify the setup parameters before generating or presenting a report.
Verifying competitor identifiers
  1. Open the Identifiers section.
  2. Locate the primary brand at the top to check its detection keywords.
  3. Scroll down through the list of competitors to verify that each competitor has the correct keyword badges assigned to them.
Checking prompt types
  1. Open the Prompts section.
  2. Review the text of each configured prompt.
  3. Look at the colored badges aligned to the right of each prompt to confirm whether it is categorized correctly (e.g., Discovery vs. High Intent).

Empty, loading, and error states

  • Loading: When the user first lands on the page, the screen will remain completely blank (rendering nothing) while the configuration data is being fetched.
  • Empty: If no pitch is currently selected, for example, if the organization hasn’t created any pitches yet, the page will display a simple, centered message reading “No pitch selected”.
  • Error / Locked: If a user attempts to access the page but their subscription plan does not include the Pitch Workspace add-on, they will see a locked screen explaining that the feature requires an Agency plan upgrade. If there is a temporary billing or server outage preventing the system from verifying their access, they will see a “Something went wrong / Couldn’t verify access” screen with a “Retry” button.
  • Linked from: The main Pitch Workspace sidebar navigation, or by clicking sub-navigation links within an active Pitch Workspace.
  • Links to: External websites. Clicking the main Company URL or any Competitor URL navigates the user away from Athena to that specific domain in a new browser tab.

Common support questions

“Why can’t I edit my pitch settings on this page?” The Setup page is designed strictly as a read-only summary to review your configuration at a glance. To make changes to your prompts, competitors, or company info, you need to use the edit controls located elsewhere in the Pitch Workspace. “Why are some of my competitors missing from the Identifiers section?” The Identifiers section only displays competitors that have at least one keyword identifier configured. If a competitor has no identifiers set up, they are intentionally hidden from this specific section to save space, but they will still appear normally in the “Competitors” section below it. “What do the colored badges next to my prompts mean?” The badges indicate the “Type” assigned to that prompt. A purple badge means it’s a “Discovery” prompt, an indigo badge indicates a “High Intent” prompt, and a neutral badge is used for any other custom types. “Why is the page completely blank when I click on it?” The page does not display a loading spinner. A completely blank screen just means the system is currently fetching your pitch data. It should populate within a few seconds. “Why am I seeing a locked screen?” The Pitch Workspace is a premium feature. If you see a locked screen, it means your organization’s current subscription plan does not include access to the Agency features required to view or create pitches.
