The Home page is the primary starting point for users logging into Athena. Instead of navigating through complex menus to find specific data, users can simply type a question into the Ask Athena chat composer right from this page to get immediate insights about their brand’s AI search presence. By providing a prominent, distraction-free search interface with quick-start suggestion chips, this page lowers the barrier to entry for users who want to analyze their brand performance, research competitors, or get content recommendations. It sits at the very top of the user’s workflow as the default dashboard for natural-language discovery. What’s on the page
- Greeting header: A friendly, time-of-day greeting (e.g., “Morning”, “Afternoon”, “Evening”, or “Up late”) customized with the user’s first name, followed by a subtitle confirming which active website they are asking about.
- Decorative atmosphere background: A subtle, animated light-and-contour background that adds visual polish to the page. It automatically pauses when the user interacts with the chat box (typing, uploading, dictating) to minimize distractions.
- Composer (chat input box): The main text area where users draft messages to Athena. It supports rich text, drag-and-drop file uploads, and voice dictation.
- + (Add menu): Opens options to attach “Files and images” or interact with third-party integrations (“Add connector”, “Manage connectors”).
- Mic icon: Toggles voice-to-text dictation.
- Send icon (Up Arrow): Submits the prompt to Athena.
- Quick prompt suggestion chips: Four preset questions situated below the composer that help users get started with a single click:
- “How is my brand performing?”
- “Compare my competitors”
- “Which sources cite me the most?”
- “What content should I create?”
- Submitting a prompt: Typing a question and hitting Enter/Send, or clicking any of the quick prompt chips, immediately transitions the user into the fullscreen Ask Athena chat window, carrying over their text and attachments, and automatically starts generating the response.

Empty, loading, and error states
- Loading: When the page is first opened, it remains entirely blank while verifying the active website and the user’s access permissions. This prevents flashing incomplete menus or incorrect greetings.
- Empty: Because this page acts as a search engine landing page rather than a data table, it doesn’t have a traditional “empty” state. The composer is always visible and ready to accept input.
- Error:
- If a file fails to upload or exceeds the size limit, a toast notification appears (e.g., “unsupported file type” or “Wait for the current upload to finish”).
- If voice dictation fails (e.g., microphone access is blocked by the browser), an error toast appears on screen.
