Purpose

The Knowledge Base Pillar Detail page allows users to dive deep into a specific topic (or “pillar”) within their fact bank. A pillar represents a core theme or topic that matters to the brand, and it acts as a central hub for all verified facts (claims) related to that topic. Customers use this page to manage the individual claims that make up the pillar, generate an AI-written synthesis document summarizing those facts, and discover which pages or articles on their own website already cover this topic. This ensures their brand’s AI search optimization strategy is grounded in accurate, approved messaging.

What’s on the page

Page Header Displays the pillar’s title, its description, and a timestamp noting when it was “Last researched” (if it has been researched before). It also contains the status selector and an overflow menu for actions related to the whole pillar. Claims Tab (Default) Lists all the approved facts (claims) that belong to this pillar. Each claim is shown as a card displaying the claim text. Clicking on a claim card acts as a drilldown, opening a Claim Detail dialog (modal) that shows:
  • Claim text: The full statement of the fact.
  • Evidence badges: A badge indicating the source type (e.g., Web research, AI response, Upload, Your site, Manual) and a badge for the confidence level (High, Medium, Low).
  • Source quote: A blockquote showing the exact text extracted from the source.
  • Source URL: A clickable link to the origin of the claim.
  • Date added: When the claim was added to the pillar.
Associated Pages Tab Lists internal site pages that are linked to this pillar. Each card displays the page title (or URL), a summary of the page, and a neutral badge showing the match percentage. Clicking an associated page card acts as a drilldown, opening the external URL in a new browser tab. Document Tab Displays an AI-generated synthesis document for this pillar. The document is rendered in rich text (Markdown) and summarizes the approved claims into a cohesive narrative. If no document has been generated yet, this tab displays an empty state with a generation button. Matching Articles Tab Shows existing content hub articles from the user’s site that cover the claims in this pillar. Each card shows the article title, URL, a match percentage badge, and the total count of matched claims. Clicking a matching article card acts as a drilldown, opening the article in a new browser tab.

What you can do here

  • Navigate back: Click “Back to Knowledge Base” (top left) to return to the main Knowledge Base list.
  • Change pillar status: Use the status selector dropdown in the top right to immediately update the pillar to “Draft”, “Published”, “Researching”, or “Archived”.
  • Edit pillar details: Click the kebab () menu in the top right and select Edit to open a dialog where you can change the pillar’s title and description. Click Save to apply changes.
  • Regenerate document: Click the kebab () menu in the top right and select Regenerate to recreate the AI synthesis document using the latest approved claims. (You can also do this via the “Generate document” button on the Document tab’s empty state).
  • Delete pillar: Click the kebab () menu and select Delete. This is a destructive action. You will be prompted with a confirmation dialog: “This will permanently delete this pillar and all its claims. This action cannot be undone.” Clicking Delete removes the pillar and returns you to the main list.
  • Add a claim: Click the floating Add claim button (bottom right of the Claims tab) to open a dialog. Enter the claim text and an optional source URL, then click Add to save it to the pillar.
  • Delete a claim: Hover over a claim card in the Claims tab, click the kebab () menu that appears on the right side of the card, and select Delete. This removes the claim immediately.
  • Find matching pages: If the Associated Pages tab is empty, click the Find matching pages button to start a background scan of the website for content that matches the pillar.

  • Empty Claims: If there are no approved claims, the Claims tab displays: “No claims yet. Add claims below or run pillar research.”
  • Empty Document: If the document hasn’t been created, the Document tab displays: “No document generated yet” alongside a Generate document button.

  • Links to: The main /knowledge-base list page (via the back button). Outbound external links open in a new tab when clicking Associated Pages, Matching Articles, or source URLs inside the Claim Detail modal.

Common support questions

Why is the Regenerate button disabled? The Regenerate button is disabled if the pillar currently has zero approved claims, or if a regeneration process is already actively running in the background. Add at least one claim to enable document generation. Why can’t I delete a claim? Deleting claims is a destructive action that requires organization-level admin permissions. If you are a viewer, you might see the delete option in the menu, but clicking it will result in an error message. Please ask an admin on your team to remove the claim. How are associated pages sorted? Associated pages are sorted by their AI-determined confidence score, from highest match percentage to lowest. What does ‘Find matching pages’ actually do? It triggers a scan across your tracked website domain to find existing URLs whose content semantically matches the topic and claims stored in this pillar. Those pages are then listed in the Associated Pages tab.
