## Purpose

The Create Pitch page allows you to generate a new pitch report by analyzing a target website. It uses AI to automatically research the brand's description, discover its direct competitors, and generate a list of relevant search prompts (both branded and non-branded) to analyze.

The page operates as a two-step wizard. First, you provide the website URL and target market (country and language). Then, you review and customize the AI's research - adding, editing, or removing competitors and prompts - before finalizing the pitch. This page is also used when you clone an existing pitch, allowing you to tweak the setup before generating a new report.

## What's on the page

**Progress steps header**
Shows your current position in the setup process. The title reads "Create Pitch Report" (or "Clone Pitch Report") on step one, and "Review & Customize" on step 2.

**Step 1: Website details**

* **Website URL**: The web address of the brand you want to create a pitch for.
* **Country**: A dropdown to select the target country for the research.
* **Language**: A dropdown to select the language for the generated research.

**Step 2: Brand profile**

* **Brand summary card**: Displays the brand's logo, name, and URL. It also includes an identifiers dropdown (e.g., "1 identifier") to manage the specific terms used to identify this brand in search results.
* **Name**: An editable field for the brand's name.
* **Description**: An editable text area containing the AI-generated description of the company.

**Step 2: Customization tabs**
A toggle switch between **Competitors** and **Prompts**.

* **Competitors list**: Shows the AI-discovered competitors. Each row includes the competitor's logo, name, a clickable URL, an identifiers dropdown, and a **⋯** (More) menu.
* **Prompts list**: Shows the AI-generated search queries. Each row includes the prompt text, a badge indicating if it is "Non-Branded" or "Branded", and a **⋯** (More) menu.
* **Add button**: Located in the top-right of the customization section, allowing you to manually add a competitor or prompt depending on which tab is active.

**Bottom navigation bar**

* **Analyze Website**: On step 1, begins the AI research process.
* **Back**: On step 2, returns you to step 1.
* **Create Pitch Report**: On step 2, finalizes the setup and creates the pitch.
* **More**: A small scroll indicator that appears at the bottom of the content area if the page is scrollable.

**Drawers**

* **Competitor Drawer**: Opens when adding or editing a competitor. Includes fields for Name and URL, plus **Delete** and **Save** / **Add** buttons.
* **Prompt Drawer**: Opens when adding or editing a prompt. Includes fields for Prompt (the keyword), Type ("Non-Branded" or "Branded"), and Country, plus **Delete** and **Save** / **Add** buttons.

## What you can do here

* **Analyze a website**: Fill out the URL, country, and language on step 1, then click **Analyze Website** to generate the brand profile, competitors, and prompts.
* **Edit brand identifiers**: Click the identifiers button (e.g., "1 identifier") on the brand summary card or any competitor row. Here you can type a new identifier and click **Add**, toggle **Match case**, edit an existing identifier by clicking it, or delete one using the **X** icon.
* **Add a competitor**: Click **Add** while on the Competitors tab to open the competitor drawer. Fill in the Name and URL, then click **Add**.
* **Edit a competitor**: Click a competitor row, or open the **⋯** menu on the row and select **Edit**. Make changes in the drawer and click **Save**.

* **Retry competitor discovery**: If the AI failed to find competitors, a notice appears in the Competitors tab. Click **Try again** to re-run the competitor search without altering your prompts or brand profile.
* **Submit the pitch**: Once you are satisfied with the setup on step 2, click **Create Pitch Report** to finalize it and navigate to your new pitch workspace.

## Data shown

The data shown on this page is generated dynamically by AI analyzing the URL you provide. It pulls in a company description, discovers relevant industry competitors, and generates search queries that potential customers might use to find the brand or its competitors. When cloning a pitch, the data is pre-populated from the pitch you chose to clone.

## Common workflows

**Create a new pitch report**

1. Enter the target website URL in Step 1.
2. Select the target Country and Language, then click **Analyze Website**.
3. Wait for the research to complete. Step 2 will appear with the generated brand profile, competitors, and prompts.
4. Review the information. Use the **Competitors** and **Prompts** tabs to add, edit, or remove entries as needed.
5. Click **Create Pitch Report**. You will be taken to your new pitch workspace.

**Clone and modify an existing pitch**

1. Navigate to clone a pitch (usually via a "Clone" action on an existing pitch). The page will load directly into Step 2 with the original pitch's data.
2. Review the pre-filled description, competitors, and prompts.
3. Make any necessary adjustments (such as adding a missing competitor URL or removing irrelevant prompts).
4. Click **Create Pitch Report** to finalize the cloned copy.

**Retry competitor discovery if none were found**

1. If you reach Step 2 and the Competitors tab shows a message that no competitors were found, click the **Try again** button inside the notice.
2. The system will attempt to find competitors again. If successful, they will be appended to the list.
3. If it fails again, you can click **Add competitor** to enter them manually.

## Empty, loading, and error states

* **Empty states**: If you delete all competitors or prompts, the list will show a message stating "Add at least one competitor/prompt to create this pitch." If the initial AI discovery found zero competitors or encountered an error, a specific notice appears offering buttons to **Try again** or **Add competitor**.
* **Loading states**: A full-page animated loader appears when you first visit the page while the system checks your plan permissions or loads clone data. During website analysis (after clicking "Analyze Website"), skeleton loading rows appear in the competitor and prompt lists, and the main button shows streaming status text like "Analyzing website..." or "Researching competitors and prompts...".
* **Error states**:
  * If your organization does not have access to pitches or you have run out of pitch credits, you will see a "Pitch access required" or "No Pitch Reports Available" screen blocking the form, with buttons to **Contact Support**, go **Back to Dashboard**, or go **Back to Workspace**.
  * If a cloned pitch has a competitor with a missing URL, an "Add a website URL" warning appears in amber on that competitor's row, and the submit button is disabled until you edit the competitor and add a URL.
  * Toast error notifications appear if website analysis fails, if you try to add more than the allowed limit of competitors (10) or prompts (25), or if pitch creation fails.

## Linked from / links to

* **Linked from**: This page is accessed from the Pitch Workspace (when choosing to create a new pitch or clone an existing one).
* **Links to**:
  * **Create Pitch Report** takes you to the new pitch in the Pitch Workspace.
  * **Contact Support** (on access-denied screens) opens your email client addressed to support.
  * **Back to Dashboard** / **Back to Workspace** returns you to the main app interfaces if you lack access.

## Common support questions

**Why is the "Create Pitch Report" button disabled?**
The button is disabled if required information is missing. You must have a website name, at least one competitor (with a valid URL), and at least one prompt. If you cloned an older pitch, a competitor might be missing its URL - look for the "Add a website URL" warning and edit that competitor to fix it.

**Why didn't the system find any competitors?**
Sometimes the AI cannot confidently identify direct competitors for highly niche or newly established websites. You can click "Try again" to prompt the system to take another look, or click "Add competitor" to manually enter the competitors you know.

**How many competitors and prompts can I add?**
You can include a maximum of 10 competitors and 25 prompts per pitch report. If you try to add more through the drawers, you will see an error message.

**Can I change the country after the research is done?**
The base country selected on Step 1 applies to the entire pitch. However, you can set a specific, different country for individual prompts by editing them in the Prompt tab. If you need to change the overall base country, you must click **Back** to return to Step 1 and re-analyze the website.
